New Lego Set Hints at What We’ll See in ‘Ahsoka’

There’s now just over a month to go until the Ahsoka show releases, and there’s some new merchandise coming out to celebrate it. One of the most recent Lego sets is no. 75357, Ghost and Phantom II, which has just been announced.

The set is based on the VCX-100 freighter from the Star Wars: Rebels animated show, and also features the Phantom II, a small ship based on the Sheathipede class shuttle which appeared in the last two seasons of the show. The Ghost served as the home for the Spectres, a group of Rebels which included Kanan Jarrus, Hera Syndulla, Sabine Wren, Ezra Bridger, Garazeb Orrelios, and the astromech droid C1-10P “Chopper”. With the exception of Kanan, all these characters are confirmed to be appearing in the Ahsoka series.

What does the set tell us about the show?

While the set looks like it’s going to be another fine addition to your Lego Star Wars collection, it also has a few hints as to what might be going on in the series.

Firstly, the only Spectres to appear in the set are Hera and Chopper. This could indicate that Sabine and Zeb won’t be on the Ghost in the series. In The Mandalorian season three, we saw that Zeb was on a New Republic base, and it’s likely that most of Sabine’s scenes will be following her quest to find Ezra, who disappeared into hyperspace with Grand Admiral Thrawn at the end of Rebels and hasn’t been seen since.

The next big reveal is a minifigure of Jacen Syndulla, Hera and Kanan’s son who had a small cameo in the last episode of Rebels. There’s been lots of speculation over whether he’d appear in the show and what his role might be, and this confirms that he will at least be in it, and is most likely flying with Hera on the Ghost.

Hera Syndulla, First Officer Hawkins, and Lieutenant
The characters shown in this still from ‘Ahsoka’ are most likely Lt. Beyta (left) and First Officer Hawkins (right)

There are two other minifigures included in the set, a First Officer Hawkins, and a Mon Calamari named Lieutenant Beyta. Both of these characters are new to Star Wars, and look to have appeared in an image from the show released several weeks ago.

Both of them are wearing New Republic uniforms, which means Hera will be working with the New Republic in the series, as she still holds her general rank. It’s likely she’ll be helping counter the threat from the remnants of the Empire which have been unified under Thrawn.

The set has a price of AUS$259.99, and a total of 1394 piece and is available for preorder now from Lego’s Australian store, with a release date of September 1. With so much hype for the show, and new merchandise always in demand, there’s likely to be plenty more announcements before the series arrives on August 23!
